Boo: A Queer Friendly Dating App
As a queer woman, I noticed a lack of dating apps that applied to an overarching LGBTQ+ audience, so I decided to let this app become the space for that niche. My research was extensive, that’s for sure, but I plan on continuing this prototype to work out the best interface I can for it. Boo, as an app, is a queer-friendly dating experience that makes use of gender-neutral language with a big focus on safety and being matched up via compatibility quizzes so you’ll meet people with like interests.
The intention of the interface is to put messaging, calling, and interest all in the hands of a user by only allowing most actions from other users to be performed only through the approval of the recipient.
