House of Cards
Inspired by Apple Trees at Olema, a poem by Robert Hass
This project is rooted in my interpretation of a poem by former chancellor of the Academy of American Poets from 2001 to 2007, Robert Hass. My hope was to push the theme of the poem, which was a “dream.” In doing so Olema took on a landscape reminiscent of the imagery in Alice in Wonderland.
As one of the biggest projects I’ve done from just an editing standpoint along with the illustrative work it is a favorite of mine and with my mushroom obsession it all works out.
